Just checked the weather in Toronto for this week. From Wednesday onwards the hottest it gets is -12°C and the coldest is -25°C!! It makes me realise what a bunch of pansies we are in Britain. If the temperature dips below 0 for a couple of days like it did last week, the whole country starts complaining about it and the news won't shut up about it. I seriously think that Brits need to toughen up.
The cold snap also created some delays at Heathrow. There was some icy fog on Saturday afternoon and air traffic control increased the time between letting each plane land. This meant that there were loads of planes in the sky around the airport being told to just circle about up there for a bit. This is a classic example of when a third runway would be useful.
