I'm going to Dubai on Monday with a guy from work for a short break; back at the end of the week. I'll be using a staff ticket for the first time which involves going on standby; I'm not too concerned about getting out there but it will be interesting getting back... hopefully my next post will be written from the UK once I've returned, rather than a plea for help from the UAE!
We've chosen Dubai for the sunny weather. I've just looked at the forecast and Tuesday is set for 37 degrees but heavy rain showers. Honestly I think I must have sinned in a previous life.

Lovely beaches and warm seas even if it does rain mate.
Nice hotels and a great souk to wander round and barter for all your lifes worth for some nice gold.
Are you going to buy one of those new apartments on that complex. I hear the prices have dropped due to the recession.
You will also notice a lot of cars parked at the airport with the keys in them from people who have run up bills on the old credit cards and are flleeing the country back to blighty as times are not as good over there now for the ex-pats.....true mate honestly.
