Well Grand Slam Sunday turned out to be utterly dreadful for the Gunners. Five games ago they were five points clear at the top. But they've only taken 4 points since then, which is relegation form. Thank God they've already surpassed the 40-point barrier for survival in the Premiership.
I quickly want to mention the commenting feature on this blog. I'm aware that for some stupid reason you had to have a Google ID in order to comment, but I think that has been sorted now. So, um, yeah, comment (please!)
A week from now I'm sure I'll be pretty nervous/annoyed/down about that fact that I'll be starting work on Monday morning. I have seven days of freedom left, in which I have time to make something happen - a lottery win maybe, or maybe I can mastermind an incredible robbery. I was thinking earlier about a conversation from last night, where someone had read that 'professional' beggars who bum around in the City bring home 180 quid a day (did I remember that figure right?)... anyway, I ended up thinking about it for rather too long and was actually on the cusp of considering giving it a go! Now that is one of my most desperate ideas in these last eight months, though writing about it now I'm getting kind of excited about it again! Yeah I know what you're thinking, this blog is weird.
And so ends the thirty-sixth week of me dossing around doing nothing. I hadn't thought of the time before in terms of weeks, and that really is a disgracefully long time. 40% of that time I've probably been in bed, 50% spent gawping at a computer screen, 9% drinking, and 1% speaking on the phone to truly inept recruitment agents (and that was 1% too much). There is perhaps a page left of the 'Unemployed' chapter in my life. How interesting can I make it?
This week, we shall see.
